One of the most significant tasks of any school or school district is that of appropriately staffing its schools with teachers. Shortages are typically acute in certain subject areas, in certain locations, and in meeting a level of diversity to reflect the student population. Several factors, including increased student population, a lack of proportionate growth in numbers of college students choosing to enter teacher preparation programs, and a high rate of teacher attrition will likely contribute to these shortages.
One of the goals of Careers in Education is to identify and provide a vehicle to those who want to contribute their talents and skills to the profession of education. In that regard, this web site will provide a link between professionals, schools and school districts. We will explore a wide variety of sources to identify those professionals, invite them to our web site and hope that they will find an employment match here.
The scope of our efforts will include opportunities at public and private K-12 schools in the United States, four-year and community colleges in the United States and international schools with curriculums similar to those taught in the United States.
